A True Story About Cufflinks
Malcolm Smith was down on his luck, forced out of his job by redundancy and job seeking for months on end to no avail. With his 27th birthday approaching he didn't have much to look forward to, being far too busy fending off bills he couldn't afford to pay. On his Birthday, Malcolm received a small gift from his brother-in-law, a set of our Tudor Cufflinks. 24 hours later, his uneventful Birthday passed and a week later Malcolm was invited to an interview for a job he never expected to get, but applied for anyway as he had exhausted all other options. Malcolm had never worn cufflinks before but decided it wouldn't hurt to smarten up a little more for the interview, and he wore the birthday cufflinks. At his interview, the cufflinks became a hot topic of conversation because his prospective employer recognised the pattern on his cufflinks that matched the same pattern of his ring. He was also impressed that for the first time in a long time, he was in the midst of what he though was a fellow cufflink collector. Malcolm winged it, talking enthusiastically about cufflinks for over 15 minutes, despite that very day being his first encounter wearing a set. The interview seemed to go well, and needless to say an offer of employment was made that very day.
This true story just goes to show what a difference a simple set of cufflinks can make in your life, or to someone else you gift a set to. I know this story to be true, because I was there at the interview in 2007.
